Card Templates

As today was miserable weather I decided to make a couple - well 4 card templates after browsing Pinterest for idea's.

Again I know these cards are not 100% perfect they are merely templates for when I make these cards for various occasions.

I made 3 Thankyou card's as could not decide on what one to give someone

The Unicorn card is lacking colour background that I am aware off, I simply could not decide on what colour to use ! Maybe a pastle blue, pink, orange ??? I have no idea

Shaker Cards ... First Attempt

Well today I finally took the plunge and had a go at making Shaker Cards, Now I will admit they are not 100% perfect or a high standard by any means but I am pleased I actually did it !

As I did not have any acetate sheets or gems... I improvised, I used laminated sheets and table confetti and pretty pleased with the results.

There are so many tutorials and video's to look and watch, I found myself getting very confused with it all. Best one's I found are HERE and THIS ONE

I will admit when I gathered all my craft stash and about to begin I had mind blank for 10 minutes as I forgot what to do ! So I guessed I made it up as I went along ! Was not until afterwards I realised I had done it correctly.

Here are my first 3 attempts, I know colour is needed and put onto backing card, but this was purely trial and error to see if laminated sheet would work

Sorry for not mentioning supplies, this is purely because I forgot to make note of them

Nautical Poppy

Well I had good intentions to use my fab Breast Cancer Awareness Stamps & Die this morning but just could not get an image to create this....typical as all week I had some good images in mind. I must start to jot these images down !

Anyway, as it's my mum's birthday looming I decided to give the Poppy Stamp & Die another go and have to admit I am impressed with the final outcome and am sure she will love it.

I then came up with a Nautical Theme...Why ? I have no idea ! But again am pleased with this.

DIY Die Cut Storage

Feeling a bit more pleased with myself after my disappointment with Poppy Stamp and Die set.

I needed a storage for my dies but did not really want to spend mega money so I had a brain wave ...yes scary thought but I do get them occasionally.

I had an old un-used CD Storage wallet laying around gathering dust and that is what gave me the idea.

I bought a roll of magnetic tape from Poundland and made some basic background templates on card to slot inside and Voila !! A cheap die cut storage

The CD cases can also be bought for £1 so all in all for £2 i have a handy die cut storage.

Poppy Disappointment

As it is my mum's Birthday and Mother's Day fast approaching I thought I would do a card for each special occasion. After a long search I finally found a Stamp and Die set of her favourite flowers Poppies.

As I had a rare day off I thought I would give them a go...How disappointed I was. Firstly the stamps were not individual and secondly they would not stick to my stamp block nor my WRMK stamping tool so I had to work with these blindly which meant I would not get a perfect stamped image.

My first attempt was to stamp image and place paper on top then use my die cut, second attempt was to use distress ink on paper, place die cut then stamp outline in black and place paper on top and press.

Surely there has to be an easier way .... Oh Yes ! it's called buy more products..so hence i have now ordered Stix2 and hope they will work that way.

As these are Sheena Douglass Stamp and Die set I honestly thought I would not have this issue.
